I live in the street called Hazar. It is a beautiful street where each house seems to stand out on it’s own little hill like royalty. There are trees everywhere. Four hundred eighty is my house. It looks as the kinq of Hazar, it has the beautiful garden and you wouldn’t walk away withut looking at it. This garden is probably my favorite place to be. It is not just a beauty of the nature, the garden holds so many childhood memories and when I’m there I feel the same I felt years ago, and i’s a wonderful feeling.
When I am in my garden, I feel like in my own other world. The air is a mingled aroma of all the wonderful and colorful flowers that grow there. The birds singing a constant changing myriad of music, which fills the air. It’s like my own personal orchestra! Many birds visit this place regularly. We have everything in there from small flowers to the large fruit trees, which are really old. Having this diversity in the place I spend a lot of my time gives me inspiration, tranquility, and comfort.
My grandma loves gardening. She cut the grass, made borders and beds, planted trees all by herself..
She would be in her rose garden from sunup to sundown, pruning, shaping and all the other things that a true gardener does. As a young woman she had a dream to have a family and children. And they would help her out in her garden. As time passed, Aunt Anna said that grandma’s youthful glow started to fade. Her hands became gnarled from long hours in her garden . If Grandma Mary couldn’t do anything else, she could make things grow. She didn’t have a green thumb, but a green hand. As time went on, she had her own children her parents passed away and she was left in the family home. Her back bowed from years of garden work and her skin, now wrinkled from exposure to the hot sun still let a peak of her former self show through. Every morning, garden tools in the old basket and her now famous old straw hat would see my granny going to her garden all bent over from stiffness in her joints, but a spring in her step to be getting to the one place she loved with all her heart-her garden.
I loved gardening too. As a child I used to help her around. She once let me plant white roses and I was so excited about it. I felt the inner peace and happiness when I saw my little plant growing bigger and bearing gorgeous flowers. And the bush of white roses I planted is still there and when I walk past it I can see myself as a child.
On the warm evenings we enjoyed making a baroque outside, in our garden. Everything was so perfect. My dad was the one making it and my mom told us some random stories.. I could smell the spring’s imminent rains or the Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbeque sauce my dad was lathering the meat with. There was an aroma of flowers freshly bloomed and soil recently turned. It warm like when you’re walking along the beach. The breeze was so warm it made me want to sleep outside under the stars. While sitting in the garden you could hear the crickets chirping, and you could see the fireflies all aglow. I looked down to see my cat. She came outside to see what she could get from the barbeque. It was amazing.
This garden has a certain role in my life. And one thing I know for sure is that I wouldn’t be able to leave it. I know everyone in the family feels the same way. The garden is very old but it still is an important thing. And I’m glad I have this place. It helps me to find peace and calms me down
