There are several options for a child’s education in today’s world. There are variations in curriculum, teaching methodologies, cultural values, goals of education. There are novel options available today such as unschooling and Home schooling that were not as common earlier. What then is an ideal educational system for a child from school through undergraduate and graduation? Where is the best education system available in the world for each of these levels?

Private schools in the good old USA. Public schools are just that public and are run just like the government; wasteful and backwards. Private schools are student centered and give the students what they need to succeed in today’s world. If you have to pay for something you will regard it better than if it was handed over to you free of charge.

I value the Montessori method as it targets all learning styles, gives the child a foundation for a love of learning, teaches the child to be a self manager and can be carried out through the high school years. It can be found world-wide but there is a school in Portland (I am not positive of the name…the Francisan..something like that, I visited it 15 years ago) where the graduates had a 100% acceptance rate to college.
